8 Perfect Autumn Outfits Our Parisian Fashion Friends Have Worn This Week

Baby, it's cold outside.

What goes through a French-girl's mind when picking out an outfit? What tenets does she stand by in her search for the perfect capsule wardrobe? Honestly, there are so many questions that spring to mind when we browse the feeds of our favourite Parisian fashion influencers. Forget the illusive je ne sais quoiwe want to know exactly what it is that makes these girls tick, and, ultimately, how we can re-create their enviable style.

"Parisian women are all about staples that they will keep forever because they know what shapes or colours fit them, however, they don't shy away from a funky touch here and there: a pair of statement shoes, an extravagant piece of costume jewellery or a flashy print," explains Ellie from Slip Into Style. "What I'm into right now are furry slippers like the Birkenstock Arizona, as they are a more affordable alternative to the current Celine ones. I've also had my eyes on the furry slippers by Sleeper for a closed-toed option."

London-turned-Parisienne Marissa Cox from Rue Rodier, meanwhile, swears by the perfect pair of jeans: "I always advise to wear a straight leg cut as these will create a more flattering silhouette, or even with a slight flare á la Jeanne Damas, as they will slim wider hips. I also keep skinny pairs to wear under knee-high boots." And how about something for the new season? "Look to leopard print to update your style for winter and treat it like a neutral," says Cox. We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Style Notes: Syana Laniyan embraces this season's '80s mood with ASOS's houndstooth power blazer and a colour-clashing lime green roll-neck.
Style Notes: Stand is fast becoming the cult coat brand of the year, and this patent number speaks for itself. We love how Marissa has styled hers with a pair of white jeans (not just for summer you know) and printed ankle boots.
Style Notes: Jeanne opts for this season's classic pairing of midi dress, chunky knit and knee-high boots in the Mango F/W 18 campaign. If you're looking for a good trans-seasonal dress, look no further than Mango's floral frock which will work well for all seasons.
Style Notes: If you're a little nervous about wearing your knee-high boots with a miniskirt, just check out Emilie's simple outfit formula. Perfect for a date night, the blogger cleverly adds a fluffy knit to even out the thigh-grazing leather mini.
Style Notes: Thought that your slip dress had no milage in winter? Think again. Réalisation's zodiac dress feels wintery when paired with boots and a leather jacket. Layer over a white roll-neck for extra warmth.
Style Notes: Sometimes, you can't go wrong with the classics, as proven by Marie Dewet, who mixes up vintage with new season staples in this failsafe winter ensemble. Take note of her kick-flare jeans for a universally flattering fit.
Style Notes: Head-to-toe white outfits seem to be proliferating on Instagram right now, and this Camille get-up is one of our faves. Opting for simple, tailored separates, she accessorises the look to perfection with a tortoiseshell bag and beige flats.
Style Notes: Ellie from Slip Into Style demonstrates the power of a well-chosen accessory. By adding a dramatic waist-cinching belt to a midi skirt and jumper, this makes for a ruway-worthy look.
