In her new autobiography, Lessons: My Paths to A Meaningful Life, Bündchen wrote that she was overjoyed when she was given a contract at Victoria’s Secret in 1999 and that it accounted for 80 percent of her annual income up until 2006. She said it was the answer she unconsciously wanted to hear. “It was also the answer my body wanted to hear, and I believe, had been trying to tell me for days.”
Bündchen ended her career as an Angel in 2007 but remained good friends with Victoria’s Secret Chief Creative Officer Ed Razek. “I was certainly grateful for the opportunity and the financial security the company had given me, but I was at a different place in my life, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue working there,” she said.
