Up

Up is the cannabis brand for music lovers—and that’s because they have The Tragically Hip on their side. Celebrity cannabis endorsements *may* be prohibited, but the iconic Canadian band are major stakeholders in the company, meaning their involvement in Up is more than an advertising ploy. (That said, if you attend an Up event, like their recent takeover of Yonge-Dundas Square, chances are you’ll get see a Hip member pick up a guitar.)

Dosist

The caveat with Dosist, which has doubled as their slogan, is that it’s not available in Canada. It won’t be until vape pens are legalized along with all the other ways to consume cannabis. Fingers crossed that this happens soon, because Dosist—which has created proprietary pens that ensure perfectly controlled doses of their 6 exclusive formulas—is maybe the easiest way for a beginner to enjoy the benefits of cannabis.

Xscape

Strains of flower (which is the classy name for actual weed) crafted and cleverly named for specific activities. Like Walk the Dog, which is a mellow hybrid perfect for letting your mind wander—but not too much—while walking Spot. Or Flix and Chill that excels at what cannabis has always been good at: making movies better, and making you want sex more.

Irisa

A wellness brand dedicated to providing the best experience for women. And while that is a bit vague at the moment, the prospect of incorporating cannabis into a considered, healthy lifestyle is definitely appealing.

The Other Stuff

You’re going to hear the word lifestyle a lot when people talk about cannabis. All “cannabis lifestyle” means is that you prefer accessories that don’t look like they belong under your couch in the basement. Here are four lifestyle brands to check out.

WDBX (pronounced Weed Box) is the perfect online destination to find a perfectly curated collection of designed focused products to help you make the most of the cannabis lifestyle, like candles, grinders, and advice, too.

Latitude is an online platform from licensed cannabis producer 48North Cannabis Corp, the first public cannabis company in the world with a female CEO. Their brand puts the focus on females, and their digital magazine is a space that seeks to empower and educate. Plus, it’s pretty to look at. Think beautifully curated profiles, photo essays and infographics all about weed, women and wellness.

If Kinfolk started a cannabis brand, it would look a lot like Milkweed. Find simple, elegant, beautifully crafted accessories that will look beautiful on the gram.

Sackville and Co. at the moment only offers one product: a gold grinder. But the brand promises to be more than a store. It’ll be a place to get information and a safe space to share stories and experiences. Because let’s be honest, cannabis can make you chatty.
