They're all under £100.
In my experience, finding flat shoes on the high street has always been unnecessarily difficult, particularly in winter. While my collection of heeled boots continues to swell, I'm left lacking in the flats department, and the result is unhappy feet and one seriously worn-out pair of loafers.
However, this season I have no excuse when it comes to subjecting my toes to daily, heels-based torture as, along with low heels, flats are seeing a renaissance in the wardrobe department.
While heels do wonders for elevating a look, flats offer a level of low-maintenance nonchalance that we often see (and covet) in the outfits of our favourite bloggers, particularly French girls. They can bring a dramatic maxi dress back down to earth, give an androgynous twist to a silky slip skirt or balance out a smart suit.
This season, the high street has delivered on the flats front, with mock-croc finishes, statement buckles and the obligatory flash of animal print. So chic. My top three picks? Zara's mock-croc square-toed loafers (wear with a cord suit) and snake-print loafers (a dream with denim) and Uterqüe's khaki slingback shoes (style with a slip skirt). But really, I want them all.
