December dressing is usually all about the party dress, however, I have a feeling this festive season will be a little different. This is mainly down to two new brands—16 Arlington and Halpern—who are making "going-out tops" more exciting than ever with OTT sequins, bold colours and feathers.
The fabrics we're opting for this season are all-over sequins, lamé and metallics, and of course, velvet. There's a serious nod to the 80's with huge shoulders, one-shoulder tops, lots of ruffles and some serious bling—especially when it comes to Alexandre Vautier. Cami tops are also a total fail-safe for Christmas parties, and I am a strong believer in having plenty of them in my wardrobe at all times for when that last minute invitation arrives. Team a metallic cami with a pair of jeans and some embellished mules, and you'll instantly have an effortless party look.
